The C4K initiative aims to partner with communities’ public and private entities to support and coordinate planning for access to high-quality early care and education for all children birth to 5. Our Ashland-Greenwood initiative focuses on partnerships with parents, providers and community members. These partnerships provide C4K with assessments of the needs of the community which enable C4K to make positive changes for the youngest members of our communities.
Ashland-Greenwood Public School Census History, 2020 figures were used to determine the need for child care in the Ashland/Greenwood area. Ashland-Greenwood current Kindergarten enrollment was used as a second way to estimate the need for child care for 0-5 year olds in the Ashland-Greenwood Area.
Using School Census population figures from 2020, demand for child care for children 0-5 (preschool only) is estimated to be 290 children whose parents are in the labor force and need child care (75% of total).
Using Ashland Greenwood Public Schools current Kindergarten enrollment data as a basis for calculating 0-5 populations (*75% as the number of families in which both parents are in the labor force in Nebraska). There are 94 licensed slots in the Ashland/Greenwood area.
Your contribution will enable us to support our endeavours to bring quality childcare to Ashland and greenwood.
